Stripes & Banana Leaves

We’ve added a pop of color and fun to our signature style, blending cheerful stripes and vibrant hues with fresh, modern shapes. Lemon
The Lemon collection marks an exciting new direction for Ruma Manis, while still staying true to our signature to creating beautiful, joyful pieces. This time, we’ve stepped away from floral patterns, yet the spirit of sweetness remains, thanks to our trusted collaborator, Katherine Karnadi. Inspired by a summer trip to a charming lemon village by Lake Garda in Italy, we were captivated by the vibrant, sunny energy of the place—its fresh, citrusy charm—and wanted to bring that same warmth and cheer to your table. The result is a lively collection of lemon-inspired tableware that’s bound to brighten up any setting.
Batik
For our recent collection, Ruma Manis had the pleasure of working with Gabrielle Meekel-Nix, an Indonesian descent textile print designer based in Amsterdam, who brought a fresh, contemporary take on traditional batik. Gabrielle’s expertise in translating intricate batik patterns into modern geometric designs infused the collection with a balance of rich heritage and sleek minimalism. The bold details of pink, black, and white adds a modern edge while maintaining a sense of timeless beauty, creating a perfect harmony between tradition and innovation. With her design sensibility, Gabrielle captured Ruma Manis’ essence—minimalist yet undeniably pretty—giving the pieces a chic flair that feels right at home in both modern and traditional settings.
Anggrek
The Anggrek collection is a celebration of one of Indonesia’s most iconic flowers—the orchid, or anggrek in Indonesian. Known for its elegance and diverse beauty, the orchid holds a special place in the hearts of Indonesians, symbolizing grace and sophistication. For this collection, we turned to Ayang Cempaka, the talented Indonesian illustrator based in Dubai, who has brought her whimsical and delicate drawing style to several of our collections. Ayang’s playful yet refined interpretation of the anggrek flower infuses each piece with a fresh, modern vibe.
Ikat
The Ikat collection by Ruma Manis is a modern yet sweet tribute to Indonesia’s rich textile heritage. Inspired by the intricate beauty of traditional Ikat weaving, this collection reimagines its timeless patterns with a soft, contemporary touch. Designed by the talented Katherine Karnadi, whose signature brush strokes bring a delicate and feminine charm, the illustrations capture the essence of tradition in a fresh and elegant way. Through this collection, Ruma Manis celebrates Indonesia’s cultural roots while embracing a style that feels effortlessly warm and inviting.
Delphinium
The Delphinium series by Ruma Manis is a poetic celebration of delicate beauty, bought to life by Katherine Karnadi’s signature soft brush strokes. Her artistry gracefully captures the elegance of delphinium flowers, translated into tableware through both intricate printing and delicate engraved techniques. Symbolizing joy, positivity and an open heart, delphinium bring a sense of grace and enchantment to any setting.
Paired with the unique wavy shapes of the tableware, the Delphinium series excudes femininity and charm. The gentle curves add touch of whimsy making every piece feel like a work of art.
Peony & Hydrangea
At Ruma Manis, we believe in the magic of life’s small, beautiful moments, and our Peonies and Hydrangeas collection is a perfect reflection of that philosophy. Peonies, with their soft, layered petals, and hydrangeas, with their delicate clusters of blossoms, make an enchanting pairing—whether as a bouquet or as individual blooms. Inspired by the breathtaking flowers surrounding Meida, one of our founders who live in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the place renowned for its flowers.
To bring this vision to life, we collaborated with Ayang Cempaka, a talented Indonesian illustrator based in Dubai. Ayang’s unique style brought a fresh, playful twist to the elegance of peonies and hydrangeas, resulting in a collection that is both sweet and uplifting. Whether displayed as a centerpiece or used in your daily meals, this collection is a reminder to appreciate the small things that make life just a little bit brighter—and always a little more beautiful.
Dahlia
Along the same year when Jasmine collection was born in 2014, we also launching a more rustic yet still feminine collection called Dahlia, inspired by the beautiful textures of Dahlia the flower itself, which we applied along the edges of the tableware. From plates, cups, bowls, the scalloped handcrafted edges was applied by the talented craftsmen made in Java and Bali. We paired them with lurik textiles, creating a sweet style that is 100% made in Indonesia.
Along the years, we continue to explore different expressions of Dahlia, from matt to glossy finish, from bold colors to dusty colors to pastel colors. Including collaborating in creating a sweet candles fragrance.
Jasmine
In 2014 we decided to create our own collection, inspired by our treasure from vintage pieces, we chose a classic pieces with feminine touch, embracing our logo, created by the talented Ayang Cempaka, an Indonesian illustrator based in Dubai. We call this collection as the Jasmine collection, symbolizing the sweet look and smell, classic and yet sweet pieces that will last forever in your cupboards.
Vintage
Ruma Manis began as a passion project starting in 2011, born from a love for vintage tableware and the artistry found in forgotten pieces. The journey started of with Meida importing unique, antique tableware from Europe, where the charm of flea markets in the countryside of the Netherlands, France, and the UK became my personal treasure hunts. Scouring these markets, I found one-of-a-kind porcelain, delicate glassware, and intricately designed ceramics, each piece telling a story of its own. The excitement of uncovering these gems, often hidden beneath layers of history, became the heart of Ruma Manis and even more exciting when Saski found out how these vintage curation are received very well in Indonesia. And that becomes the start of Ruma Manis.
