How nice to see you stumble upon our specially decorated corner! We are Saski and Meida, two childhood friends pursuing our passion for the pretty and sweet things in life. Our story is one of true connection and appreciation of friendship and beauties.
It started with our friendship..
Our journey started off when we met in 1996 in our first year of high school. There, we spent our days giggling over silly jokes and boy bands with our group of friends. We then realized how much appreciation we both have on design and trends simply through watching TV series and reading fashion and interior magazines.
After highschool however, we lived separately in different parts of world, but a deep rooted friendship and shared passion continues. In our 20s onwards, travel then started to be a big part of our lives, and has opened our minds up in incredible ways. We have come to know and appreciate so many fascinating cultures and inspiring people doing incredible things with their lives. It has served us with untold inspiration and added in the buckets of our common passions.
About Ruma Manis
Ruma Manis was then born in 2011 out of our passions. We started off with selling European vintage tableware and continued with creating our first own collection, Jasmine which is inspired from the vintage tableware.
The fact that we live in two different parts of the world, Indonesia and Netherlands, we mix and match our love for Indonesia with the inspiration that we see in Europe. We celebrate and re intrepret ikat and batik, and adore the beauty of peonies and hydrangea which is a typically found in Western world.
One thing for sure, wherever you are, here at Ruma Manis – a name inspired by the Indonesian for ‘sweet home’ – we provide a home sweet home tableware and accessories to help you create that pretty home of your dreams. Whether it is a quiet night in, or a get-together with friends, what we enjoy most is creating that authentic homely feel we all long for. The contrast of soothing pastel colours and the playful fun pop colors, can transform your home into something that represents the real you.

Our journey so far has been filled with incredible joy and a friendship that’s more precious than anything. They say if you want to go fast, go alone—but if you want to go far, go together.
