The name Hydrangea comes from Greek words “Hydros” which means water, and “Angos” mean jar. This is because the flower tend to stick together and needs a lot of water, but too much water can damage Hydrangea since it will cause its petals to fall.
The shape of this flower itself is uniqe. It doesn’t bloom with big pretty petals like any other flowers, but bunches of small flowers that stick together as a ball. Its togetherness from one small flower to another makes it as as symbol of gratitude. Hydrangea also has diverse meaning based on the color of the flowers. Blue Hydrangea symbolizes fridgidity and apology, Pink shows emotion while Purple Hydrangea is used to show somebody that you have a strong desire to understand him or her.
